  15. your bottleneck may be your UART chip.  If your using windows, exit to 
  16. dos mode and type msd at the prompt. check under com settings for the 
  17. UART type.  If you don't have a 16550 UART or equivalent then you'll 
  18. need to upgrade in order to get a higher transfer speed out of your 
  19. modem.
